It is a light and nutritious snack providing quick energy. Trail mix consists of healthy ingredients and that's the reason that it has all that nutrients and vitamins which is necessary for the body and moreover the carbohydrates in it which satisfies your hunger and cravings.


Today's trail mix recipe is a very easy and quick recipe that is healthy and can be preserved for longer periods. This trail mix recipe can be easy to carry wherever you want for a quick snack. So try this Trail mix which is crunchy and crispy, light and tasty. This trail mix is a combination of a little bit sweet and saltiness.

Ingredients

  • Corn flakes 150 gm

  • Almonds 100 gm

  • Cashews 70 gm

  • Raisins 60 gm

  • Peanuts 70 gm(unsalted)

  • Curry leaves 2 tbsp (dried & crushed)

  • Sugar 2 tbsp

  • Salt 1 tsp or as per taste

  • Fennel Seeds 1 tsp

  • Paprika powder(optional) 1/2 tsp

  • Oil 1 tbsp

  • Green chilli (optional) 1 chopped

Cooking Instructions

  1. Take a large deep pan and dry roast the cornflakes on low to medium heat for about 2 to 3 minutes by continually stirring to avoid burning.

  2. After about a few minutes of roasting the cornflakes, add sugar into it, and mix well.

  3. After adding sugar into the cornflakes then mix it well and keep on stirring slowly so that sugar doesn't burn.

  4. Then add salt and paprika powder and keep on roasting it for 2 more minutes.

  5. When the cornflakes look crispy then switch the gas off and keep them aside in a large bowl to let it cool.

  6. Now roast the peanuts in the flat pan on low heat for few minutes till it gets light brown in color.

  7. When the color of peanuts gets slightly changed then take them out and let it cool down.

  8. Take another large deep pan and add oil into it.

  9. Add chopped green chilies, fennel seeds and curry leaves one by one and cook them in the oil for about 2 to 3 minutes.

  10. Then add almonds, cashews, and roasted peanuts into the oil and cook them on a medium flame for a couple of minutes, and after this add raisins and mix all well.

  11. After just a few minutes on low flame, add roasted corn flakes in the nuts and mix all well so that every ingredient absorbs the flavors of sugar and salt.

  12. Now switch the gas off and transfer the trail mix into a large plate to cool it down.

  13. When the trail mix cooled down then transfer it into the airtight container so that you can use it for longer periods.

Notes

  1. Paprika powder and green chilies are is optional.

  2. You can also add a pinch of dried mango powder for the sourness.

  3. You can also add other types of nuts of your choice into the trail mix.

  4. Add sugar and salt as per your requirements.
