Baby corns are very famous all over the world and are consumed worldwide. It is a short type of corns which is famous for stir fry dishes. They are also eaten both raw or cooked. Baby corns are a little sweet in taste because they are harvested at a premature stage. Baby corns can be cooked in any style. They are also a good food option for vegan food lovers.
Baby corns are very easy to cook and their crispy ness is a major attraction. Being low in carbs and high in fibre content, so they are very healthy to consume. Baby corns are also a good source of folate which is essential for brain function. Not only this, but these little corns are also packed with multiple nutrients like vitamin B1 and also contain some amount of calcium, zinc, and iron.
Today's baby corn recipe is crispy, light and crunchy, and very quick and can be made at anytime you like. I made this recipe along with noodles and cheese chili but you can make this with anything you like for example with stir-fried rice or with any gravy dish. This recipe can also be eaten as a snack food or as a condiment to the main dish.
Ingredients
Baby Corn 260 gm
Paprika powder 1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying and stir-frying
Corn flour 2 tbsp
White plain flour 2 tbsp
Water as per requirement
Chopped garlic 2 medium cloves
Chopped onion 1 medium
Red chili sauce 1 tbsp
Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Sweet chili sauce 1 tbsp
Vinegar 1/2 tsp (optional)
Coriander leaves for garnishing
White sesame seeds for garnishing
Cooking Instructions
Cut the baby corns into 2 to 3 pieces of each.
On the baby corns, sprinkle some paprika and black pepper powder and some salt
Add ginger garlic paste in the baby corns and mix well.
In a bowl, add corn flour and white plain flour with some salt and mix altogether.
Add baby corns into this flour mix and mix all together so to stick flour on the baby corns.
Now add some water in the baby corns to make them wet but not to much water.
Mix baby corns after adding some water. Don't worry if it is too sticky.
Now in a deep pan put some oil to fry the battered baby corns .
When the oil is heated then start adding chunks of baby corns one by one.
When they are slight golden in colour then take them out in a plate.
Keep the baby corns aside and chop garlic and onion.
In a stir frying pan, put one tablespoon oil and heat it.
Now add chopped garlic and after adding garlic add some chopped onions into it and saute them.
Now add baby corns into the chopped onions and garlic and saute all together.
After about 2 to 3 minutes, add red chilli sauce, soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce in the baby corns.
Saute all together and sprinkle some splash of water if required .
Your crispy baby corns are ready and sprinkle some sesame seeds on the top and some fresh coriander leaves for garnishing.
