Chocolate Cake

This chocolate cake is moist, fudge and super delicious. This chocolate cake's texture is very smooth and light in taste. Top with rasp berries and shredded chocolate for decorations. Easy to bake and does not take much time to prepare.






Course Dessert Preparation time 30 to 45 minutes(cake and chocolate sauce)

Cooking Time 30 to 35 minutes Decoration Time 25 minutes


Ingredients for batter

  • Plain flour 450 gm

  • Cocoa 200 gm

  • Caster Sugar 400 gm

  • Baking powder 1 and 1/2 tea spoon

  • Baking soda 1 and 1/2 tea spoon

  • Milk 250 ml

  • Vanilla extract 2 tea spoon

  • Eggs 2 eggs

  • Salt 1 tea spoon

  • Oil 1/2 tea spoon

  • Boiling Water 250 ml


For Icing

  • Butter 200 gm

  • Cocoa 125 gm

  • Caster Sugar 400 gm

  • Whipped Cream 200 ml

  • Vanilla extract 1 tea spoon

  • Dark chocolate 2 (100 gm each)

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 360f/180c.

  • Greese two 9 - inch baking pans with butter and sprinkle plain flour on them evenly. Set aside.

  • Take large bowl, put together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cocoa and mix them well.

  • Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract. Whisk the mixture until it is smooth (Usually for about 5 - 6 minutes).

  • Add boiling water to the mixture and whisk again.

  • Pour batter evenly into the two pans and bake in middle or lower rack of oven for about 30 to 35 minutes (After 30 - 35 minutes insert toothpick into cake, if it comes out clean, your cake is ready).

  • Remove the cakes from Owen and let it cool for 15 minutes before removing from pans.

  • In the meantime, lets prepare chocolate cream frosting.

For Chocolate cream

  • Take a pan, fill it with water and place it on gas on low heat.

  • In a bowl, break two dark chocolate into pieces.

  • Place the chocolate bowl on the pan and keep stirring it till it melts.

  • When the chocolate it melt on medium to lower flame of pan,remove it from pan

  • In the chocolate bowl, add cocoa, caster sugar, whipped cream, vanilla extract and butter.

  • Mix it until smoothly. Mix the cream in one direction only.

  • Icing is ready once the above mix become evenly thick.

Putting both together

  • Smear 2 - 3 heaped table spoons of chocolate cream evenly on both cakes.

  • Place one cake onto the top of other cake.

  • Apply remaining cream evenly with a spatula all over the joint cake.

  • Decorate the cake with a raspberries & Strawberry and sprinkle the shredded dark chocolate on the top with little bit of caster sugar.
