Fish Biryani

Fish Biryani is one of the quickest recipes of biryani and it will become your favorite immediately. In this recipe, fish is marinated with some spices and then it is shallow fried

and added to the rice, then cooked on medium flame.

Fish Biryani

Course: Lunch or Dinner Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cuisine: Indian Cooking Time: around 50 minutes


Ingredients for Rice

Rice (basmati) 1.5 cup

Salt half tbsp

Oil 2 tbsp Bay leaves 1 to 2

Cloves 4 to 5

Green cardamom 3 to 4

Peppercorn 5 to 6

Cumin seeds half tbsp

Cinnamon stick 1 to 2 sticks

Saffron or color mix in one cup of water

Onions 2 (fried)

Water around 3 cups


Fish Masala

Fried onions 1 large

Green chilies 3 to 4

Lemon juice 1

Coriander leave 6 to 7

Yogurt or curd 1 cup

Biryani masala 1 tbsp

Dill leaves 5 to 6


For Fish marination

Fish fillets (boneless) 5 to 6 pieces

Red chili powder 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder 1 tbsp

Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp

Garam Masala 1 tsp

Oil 1-1/2 tbsp

Salt 1 tsp


Cooking instructions for fish

  • Take fish fillets and clean it

  • Marinate the fish with dry ingredients

  • Add ginger-garlic paste and some oil onto fish

  • Rub it well on the fish

  • Now take the pan and fry the fish.

  • Fry the fish in a shallow pan till it turns golden brown and when cooked take it out on a plate.

  • Now u can take the same pan and some oil to make masala

  • Add yogurt, mint, coriander and dill leaves into the oil.

  • Add biryani masala, green chilis, fried onions, and lemon juice into it.

  • Finally pour half of this masala on the fish and keep it aside

Cooking Instructions for Rice

  • In a large pan take water to boil rice.

  • Add oil and all the condiments into water.

  • Add rice and boil the rice .

  • When rice cooked 80% then rinse it

  • Now add the layer of rice in the masala which was half left earlier.

  • pour the saffron color and fried onions on the rice by making layers.

  • Now spread this fish on the rice evenly .

  • Let it simmer for 10 minutes while covering it

  • Serve it hot.

Notes

  • Handle the fish gently as it would be very soft.

  • Use basmati rice for better results.

  • Soak the rice half an hour before.

  • Marinate the fish at least half an hour before frying.

  • I used basa fillet.
