This Flavorsome recipe of chicken pulao is a comfort food that you can cook at any time without much efforts.The soft basmati rice is so delicious and well cooked with spices to enhance the aroma of this dish.The spicy,tangy and masala pulao is well cooked with chicken and its soup to enhance its flavours.This recipe can be enjoyed at any time as a main course. The aroma of these long rice is suffused with the flavours of whole spices, ginger garlic paste and chicken stock which melts in your mouth and gives you the sense of comfort after a long day of hard work.

Ingredients
Chicken 500 to 600 gm
Rice 1 1/2 cup
Salt according to taste
Oil 7 to 8 tsp
Tomatoes 1 large
Onions 2
Tamarind water 3 to 4
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Green chilli paste 1 tsp
Red dried chillies 2
Black pepper powder 1/2 tbsp
Red chilli powder or paprika powder 1 tsp
black pepper 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder 2 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Green cardamom 3 to 4
Black cardamom 1
Cloves 3 to 4
Bay leaves 2
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Water 3 o 4 (as per required)
Cooking Instructions
Soak the Rice at least half an hour before cooking.
Place the large pan on the gas and add oil into it .
Heat the oil and add chicken pieces into the oil.
Fry the chicken into the oil for around 10 minutes first on the high flame then on the medium flame.
Now add sliced onions and cook it for few minutes.
Add cumin seeds and other whole spices .
After a while when onions are light golden brown and chicken is slightly cooked then add the all powdered spices.
First add red chilli powder or paprika and mix it well then add other spices.
Now add Tomato puree and tamarind water into it.
Cook the chicken for 5 minutes on medium flame.
Now add the water into the chicken and cook the chicken on high flame for around 10 minutes.
Check the chicken pieces if the chicken is cooked around 70 % then add Rice into it.
Cook the rice with chicken on high flame when the water start boiling and reduced and rice is little bit soft then slow down the flame and cover the rice till the rice cooks properly and water is absorbed.
When the rice are soft then switch off the flame then check the softness of rice and make sure the water is reduced properly.Then let it covered for few minutes until it cools down.
Serve it hot with sauce or yogurt or salad.
Notes
You can adjust spices according to your taste.
Adjust the water according to the quality of the rice.
Check the rice in between when they are covered.
Instead chilli powder if you do not wish to add ,you can use paprika powder.
